1. Intro

Well we made it to the second issue. That's pretty good considering the hard drive failure we had right after the first issue. I'm pretty sure the subscriber list is intact, but it wouldn't be a problem if you told all your friends to subscribe:)

I apologize if these issues don't have enough repair information. We have started out as more of an all-around bike e-zine. If you want more repair info, just let me know!

2. Do You Want to Race?

This article goes out to all you aspiring mountain bike racers. I want to tell you a little bit about my first mountain bike race, and maybe it will inspire you to get to one yourself.

Let's start from the beginning...

I picked up a form at my local bike shop, filled it out, and sent it in along with $13. Then I re-read Ned Overend's book to make sure that I would know what was going on at the race. I had no clue what to expect at the race since I had never been to one. All I knew was that I should pre-ride the course before race day.

3. Company Spotlight:

Today I just want to mention a couple companies who have shown me some great customer service.

The first one is Park Tool Company. If you have used their tools, you probably know how nice they are. I agree.

But one day I noticed my little chain tool wasn't working, and that was because the threads stripped right off it. I sent it in to Park, and they replaced the damaged part and sent it back to me in about a week. This was free of charge, of course, and they even included a short, hand-written thank you note for using Park tools!

Next we'll shift gears and talk about Balance Bars. Once I bought a 15-pack of their Gold bars, but it turned out to only have 6 bars in it!

So I just sent them a quick e-mail about the situation, and they immediately sent me a check to cover the cost of another box! So it was like getting 6 bars for free. I'm not complaining!
